What does the Bible mean about LOVE???

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:37-40

In the above verse god simplifies the the Old Testament Commandments given to us through Moses. The first one encapsulates commandments 1-5 and the second encapsulates commandments 6-10. The central word to follow all these commandments is LOVE. Love is the one that fuels us from going against these commandments.

But how to LOVE. There are two steps involved.

The first is to Love the Lord. You cant love anyone unless if he/she has had an impact in your life. For example you love your parents because they are everything to you and the things they have done is plainly in sight. Similarly to see what god has done for you look people below you like!!!.

If you have parents.... then look at people who dont have
If you have too much food... look at people who cant afford a single meal.
If you feel that the house you live in is not comfortable or artistic... look at people who dont have one.
If you complain of not having an iphone to chat... look at people who are deaf and dumb.
If you argue at the color of your dress.... look at people who are blind.
If you are not satisfied with your Job or think the pay is less.... think about people who dont have a job, laborers, daily wages people and see how blesses you are...

Now just think where god has placed you.... Be grateful for that and care for the above mentioned people. Thank him always for what he has given you. That's how you can love god. Read the below verses to see what god says about this.

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Matthew 25:31-46

The second is to Love your neighbor. A neighbor is not only the person next door it can be anyone near you. Either at work or church or any human being for instance. The normal human tendency is this. We want to judge others, whereas we hate being judged by others. For eg:- when you drive a car or bike and if someone comes in suddenly, you shout and yell. But when you are in that situation you plainly ask what happened??? why cant he/she ignore??? We want all the good things in life and want others to be good to us but we don't fancy doing that to others and have second thoughts on doing what we expect. Start loving all human beings. Exercise some acts of kindness at least once a day. It gives a great feeling.

Your acts of kindness can include helping underprivileged poor people in your family to those in the street. A cup of coffee to someone indeed... Helping an old person cross the street... giving unused or old stuff to people who are underprivileged....   ferrying old people between destinations... helping the poor lonely old people next door.... helping a person carry a load to name a few....or even spending time with old people...

This is what the bible says

So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
                                                                                                                                             Matthew 7:12

And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

                                                                                      Luke 6:31

Qualities of Love
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Conclusion
If you have second thoughts about this then read the below verse

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
